The craft of Paint Correction, is a labor intensive process where compounds and polishes are applied by either a random orbital, a rotary buffer or both to re-level the paint, leaving behind a gloss and clarity on the paintwork that you have yet to experience. This craft of safe, modern, and proper buffing techniques is what separates a true professional detailer from the rest. At Extreme Details LLC we spend multiple hours fixing work that was performed incorrectly by unskilled detailers, body shops, prep departments at dealerships and high volume operation detailing shops and car washes.

Single Stage Paint Correction
This level of paint correction utilizes just one stage of machine polishing. While not considered a “perfection detail” given the single stage process , a significant transformation in the condition of the paint can be achieved. We can usually remove 50-70% of swirls, and light defects on softer paints (like Lexus, Toyota), whereas on harder paints (like Mercedes Benz, BMW) this could be a 30-50%. There are different variables that can dictate just how much correction you can safely achieve in a single stage correction process.

2 Stage Paint Correction
This treatment was designed for the daily driver who is looking for a higher quality finish with less defects . A medium to polish is used to remove unsightly swirl marks, micro-marring, light etching, holograms and light scratches followed by a fine polish to enhance the gloss and reflection of the paintwork. The end result is a deeper finish with less scratches and high gloss.

Multiple Stage Paint Correction
When you step up to multi stage paint correction, you’re significantly improving the finish by removing all of the swirls, and all but the heaviest of scratches and defects. This process starts with a heavy compounding machine polishing stage to remove the worst defects, and then followed by a secondary polishing stage to refine the finish and improve the gloss and clarity. Due to the different paint types, condition, and size of vehicles, the rate for the Multi Stage Paint Correction varies, but we consult with each customer to provide a more precise quote. The paint type and condition also dictates the level of correction, but typically this service will get rid of 75-95% of all defects. Pretty close to that of a brand new car.
